Alcohol & Drug Addiction PLUS the New Life Project

Alcohol and drug addiction is an illness marked by drinking alcohol or taking drugs at a level that interferes with physical health, mental health, social, family or occupational responsibilities. Addiction usually involves physical dependence but genetic, psychological and social factors contribute as well.

A person may continue to abuse despite serious health, personal, work and financial consequences but addiction is a chronic, progressive disease and can be fatal unless untreated.

Alcohol and drug misuse is a common problem and it is often the perception that an alcoholic or user is the person on a park bench or living in a cardboard box. This is not always the case. Addiction affects all types of people from all walks of life, it is not selective.

It is not the amount that you use but how your use affects your life, your family, your marriage, your job.

If you feel that you have a problem with alcohol or drugs then please telephone to talk about it further and/or  book an appointment.

 THE NEW LIFE PROJECT

The New Life Project is a daily treatment programme for alcoholics and drug addicts where they attend Monday-Friday to join in group sessions. It is an extensive and in-depth form of therapy based on the Minnesota 12 Step method of recovery.

It is a non-residential programme but where the client must attend daily at the set times and must adhere to TOTAL ABSTINENCE from alcohol/drugs and must agree to be tested for substance use at random times throughout the course. One to one counselling (follow-up) is offered for six months for FREE upon completion of the course.

If you feel that this course would be more beneficial than general counselling the please telephone for more information.

For those who need to be detoxed we are able to advise on detoxification and will assist in any way that we can.
